We believe that giving children the opportunity to be involved in the genres of music that Crossover promotes, whether that be through listening, learning or performing, is vital to keeping the music alive and well. This is why children under the age of 18 (accompanied by a paying adult) are allowed to come to the festival for free and also get to participate in the children's workshop. (When possible, we also run a program to sponsor a student at Sore Fingers Summer School (SFSS) if we spot a child who would value from more intense tuition). After the workshop at Crossover, the tutors (who are all DBS checked) will ask the children if they are interested in performing in the 'kids' concert' on the Saturday afternoon of the festival. This will be a fairly informal, no-pressure concert in front of a smaller audience. Have a look at the videos below to see some previous performers.
